Accounts and Backup

Manage Accounts

From here you can add, remove, and sync accounts for different emails and app accounts.

At the very bottom of this page you can turn on Auto Sync Data or you can toggle this off if you only want data synced for certain accounts. To do this simply click on the account and choose what data you want synced.

Back up Data

From here, you can choose what data is backed up on your phone. It is highly recommended that you back up your data. In the event that your phone is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, you will still have all of your information safe and it can be downloaded on a new or replacement device. From here you can back up:

• Call Logs
• Messages
• Contacts
• Calendar
• Clock
• Settings
• Home Screen
• Apps

You can also set your back ups to automatically back up while you’re roaming (this comes in handy while you’re traveling) by switching on Auto Back up while roaming towards the bottom of the screen.

Note: For photo and video back ups your going to want to use a cloud service such as Microsoft OneDrive, Google photos or any other cloud service of your choosing. For Microsoft OneDrive, see Samsung Cloud and select Gallery to back up photos.

If you would like to back up data immediately click on Back up now at the bottom of this screen.

Restore Data

If you would like to restore data on a new phone or the current phone you are using, click on restore data and choose a back up you would like to restore.

From here you can see how much GB (Gigabytes) of your data is being used to back up what content. You can also choose to purchase more storage if your current storage is filled up or getting close.

From here you can see what content is backed up and how much storage is being used by each category, including:

• Apps
• Photos & videos
• SMS messages
• Call history
• Sevice Settings
• Google Account data

Advanced Settings

From here you can Back up your phone using Mobile or metered Wi-Fi Data.

Smart Switch

With Smart switch you can easily transfer your data to a new phone when you upgrade your device. You can switch all of your contacts, photos, videos, calendar, phone settings and more. Smart Switch allows you to switch data from Galaxy to Galaxy or iPhone to Galaxy.

Note: To transfer data from a Galaxy phone to an iPhone see Move to IOS. You can also use a variety of other transfer applications as well.
