Calendar Settings – Samsung
Manage Calendars
From here you can manage and customize your Calendars. You can show or hide your phone, Samsung, or Google calendar and any other calendars you may have for any other accounts.
- Turn the switch on next to the account to show that accounts calendar in the calendar app.
- You can also change the color of each calendar to organize it.
- You can also organize birthdays and create shared calendars and reminders for app events.
If you want to add an account, click the Plus Icon (+) in the top right corner.
Calendar Style
First Day of the Week
You can change to first day of the week from Sunday to Saturday, or Monday.
Highlight Short Events
When you’re viewing your Calendar in months view, it will show color bands on events that last less than a day.
Event Colors
You can alter an events colors from Very Muted, Muted, Bright, and Very Bright. Toggle between the four to see which one you like more.
Let Event Titles Wrap
When this setting is off, the events title in your Calendar, regardless of length will only contain one line of text. When this is on, the event title will extend to two lines.
Event Title Font Size
You can alter the size of your event titles in your Calendar between Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large. Toggle between the sizes to see which one best suits you.
Optional Information
Alternate Calendar
Alternate Calendars will be different than the standard American Gregorian Calendar you may be used to. If you prefer a different Calendar you can choose between:
- None (this will be the common calendar used in your specific geographical location and timezone)
- Korean Lunar
- Chinese Lunar
- Vietnamese Lunar
- Hijri
- Shamsi
Show Week Numbers
This setting will show you what week of the year it is, for example, if it is October 24th 2022 it will show as week 44 in your Calendar app.
Show Weather Forecast
With this setting on, you will see the weather in the bottom left corner of your Calendar.
Show Completed Reminders
With this feature, you will see all of your reminders that have been completed, rather than have them disappear entirely after they’ve been completed.
Hide Declined Events
While this is on, any events that you have declined to go to will not show up on your Calendar. Turning this off may come in handy because if your plans that day were to get cancelled you will see the event and maybe you decide you want to go after all.
Alerts
Alert Style
From here you have a variety of options to change how your phone alerts you. You can choose between:

Light
- This will be a notification with a short sound.

Medium
- This will be a full screen alert with a short sound and while you’re using your phone you will get a pop up.

Strong
- This will be a full screen alert with a long alert sound and while you’re using your phone you will get a pop up.
General Notifications: Short Sound
Show Notification
Turn this switch on to show Calendar notifications. Once this is turned on, you will see a list of ways to customize your alert.
Alert
If you select Alert instead of Silent you will be given the following options:
- Show as Pop-Up: This will show alerts as pop ups all the time instead of using the full screen to alert you. While you are using your phone the alerts will show up as pop-ups regardless.
- Sound: Choose from a variety of custom and preset sound for your alerts.
- Vibrate: Your phone will vibrate as well as make a sound to alert you.
- App Icon Badges: Calendar badges, like badges for other apps such as messages and phone calls, will display a red/orange circle in the top right corner of the app on your home screen to let you know that the app has unseen notifications..
- Lock Screen: On your lock screen you will see the notification without the contents of the notification if you select Hide Content or you can select Don’t Show Notifications if you want nothing to pop up on your lock screen when your Calendar app has a notification.
- Ignore Do Not Disturb: When this is turned on, you will receive Calendar notifications even if you have your phone in Do Not Disturb.
Silent
If you select notifications to be Silent you will have the following options:
- Minimize Notifications: This just reduces the size of the notification to be less prominent.
- App Icon Badges: Calendar badges, like badges for other apps such as messages and phone calls, will display a red/orange circle in the top right corner of the app on your home screen to let you know that the app has unseen notifications..
- Lock Screen: On your lock screen you will see the notification without the contents of the notification if you select Hide Content or you can select Don’t Show Notifications if you want nothing to pop up on your lock screen when your Calendar app has a notification.
- Ignore Do Not Disturb: When this is turned on, you will receive Calendar notifications even if you have your phone in Do Not Disturb.
General Notifications: Long Sound
Ignore Sound Settings
This will play alert sounds even when your phone is set to silent.
Vibrate While Ringtone Plays
This will make your phone vibrate when you get a calendar notification in conjunction with your set ringtone.

Choose from a variety of ringtones.
Alert Times
Events
From here you can choose a general time to alert you of an event.
- No alert
- At time of event
- 10 min before
- 1 hour before
- 1 day before

All-Day Events
For all day events you can select a time to be alerted to help you remember the event.
- No alert
- Day of event at 9:00 AM
- Day before event at 5:00 PM
- 2 days before event at 9:00 AM

Contacts’ Birthdays
Be alerted prior to one of your contacts birthdays.
- No alert
- Day of event at 9:00 AM
- Day before event at 5:00 PM

More Settings
Lock Time Zone
With this you can lock the date and time of your events to your selected time zone. For example, if there’s a birthday in the area you live in but you’re traveling, you will still be able to lock that event in at the time of their birthday even if you are currently in a different time zone.
Trash
With this turned on you will be able to keep deleted events for 30 days. When this is off, all deleted events will be permanently deleted.
Remove Times From Event Titles
This will automatically remove times from events added through the quick add menu.
Privacy
Permissions
App permissions allow the app access other apps or tools that help features of the calendar app to work. Some permissions are required for you to use the apps basic functions. In this case you must allow Calendar and Contacts.
Customization Service
When this is on, you allow your phone to analyze your habits across different apps to give you a more personalized experience. What apps you choose to allow depends on how much you trust the app as your activity will be tracked and analyzed across all the apps you choose to allow.
