Phone app Settings – iPhone

Allow Phone To Access

  • Siri & Search
  • Notifications
  • Incoming Calls
    • You can choose between Banner (the incoming call will show only at the top of the screen) or Full Screen (the incoming call will show on the full screen) when you’re getting incoming calls
  • Announce Calls
    • If you want your iPhone to announce calls you can have your phone Always announce calls, announce calls only with Headphones & Car, just Headphones, or Never.

My Number

This will show your phone number.

Calls

Wi-Fi Calling

With Wi-Fi Calling you can make and receive calls on your iPhone without using Cellular Data. This can come in handy to avoid international charges from your Mobile Network Provider and help to reduce data consumption. It is also useful if you are in an area where you can use Wi-Fi and the Cellular Connection isn’t very good.

You can also add Wi-Fi Calling to other devices that are signed in with your Apple ID.

Note: Wi-Fi Calling options may not be available for all Mobile Network Providers or Cellular Data Rate Plans. Check with your carrier for more information.

Calls on Other Devices

You can Allow Calls on Other Devices using your iPhones Cellular Account if you want your other devices that are signed in with your Apple ID to send and receive calls while they are near each other and on the same Wi-Fi.

Respond With Text

If you are busy and you can’t pick up your phone right away or can’t type out a text to let the person calling know you saw their call right away, you can set up a few quick responses that you can click on when someone calls to notify them that you got it but you’re busy such as: “I’m at work right now I’ll call you back in a little bit” or “I’m in a meeting right now.”

Call Forwarding

Call forwarding is when you get calls on your device but would like to forward them to another person or a different one of your phone numbers. This can be useful in situations where maybe you have a co-worker or business partner that you want to take customer calls while you’re in a meeting, off work, or on vacation so you’re calls will now be received from a different phone number. To set up Call Forwarding:

  • Go to Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding > Turn it On, then type in the phone number you want your calls to be forwarded to.

Call Waiting

If Call Waiting is off, when you’re on a call currently and another person is calling you, they will be sent straight to your voicemail. When it is on you will see another person calling and you can choose to ignore the call, pick up the call and hang up the current call, or pick up the call while the other person is waiting on the other line.

Show My Caller ID

When Show MY Caller ID is on, your name and phone number will show up on the other persons phone. When it is off, your name and phone number won’t show up on the other persons phone.

Silence Unknown Callers

When Silence Unknown Callers is on, anyone who is calling your phone that is not in your contacts will be sent straight to voicemail and their number will show on your recent calls list. When Silence Unknown Callers is off, all calls will be received as incoming calls.

Call Blocking & Identification

These settings may change depending on who your wireless carrier is.

Business ID

Your caller ID will show up as identified by your wireless carrier.

Silence Junk Callers

This will filter out potential spam, robo calls, and potential fraud as identified by you carrier.

Blocked Contacts

All of the phone numbers you have blocked will show up on this list. You can scroll to the bottom and add more phone numbers or you can remove numbers from your blocked list by clicking Edit in the top right corner and removing each phone number from the list.

SMS/Call Reporting

From here you can report call and text message information to third party developers. If you do this all phone numbers, contact information, text messages, content of text messages and more will be sent to these third party services. This includes any personal information in these texts or calls so it is Highly Advised that you select None unless you are aware of what you are doing and have a specific purpose to do so.

Change Voicemail Password

To change your Voicemail Password:

  • Go to Settings > Phone, and scroll down to where it says Change Voicemail Password.
  • Then enter your new voicemail password twice and select Done.

Dial Assist

With dial assist your phone will automatically determine the right international prefix for the phone number you are dialing.
