Advanced Accessibility Settings

From here you can customize your devices settings to customize notifications create access directly to certain features along with other helpful features.

To access these settings open Settings > Accessibility > Advanced settings.

Accessibility Shortcuts

Accessibility button

When you open the Accessibility button setting you can choose from a list of options once you click on Select Actions that will add an accessibility button to your navigation bar that creates easy access to:

  • Accessibility 
  • TalkBack
  • Magnification
  • Color inversion
  • High contrast fonts
  • Extra dim
  • Color Adjustment
  • Add color filter
  • Amplify ambient sound
  • Mute all sounds
  • Sound notifications
  • Live transcribe
  • Universal switch
  • Assistant menue
  • Speak keyboard input aloud

You can also choose the location of the button to float over other apps or add it to your navigation bar. If you choose a floating button you can change the size, fade out when its not in use and toggle the transparency of the button by dragging the slider at the bottom of the screen.

Side and Volume up keys

When you add a shortcut to the side and volume buttons, you can choose from a list of the same options listed above in the accessibility button section. To activate this feature you must click the side button and the volume up button at the same time.

Volume up and down keys

When you add a shortcut to the volume up and down buttons, you can choose from a list of the same options listed above in the accessibility button section. To activate this feature you must hold the volume up and down keys for 3 seconds.

Notifications

Flash notification

The camera or screen will flash during alarms or when you receive notifications.

Time to take action

Select how long unread messages will appear on your screen.

Speak keyboard input aloud

Your device will read aloud characters, words, or both. Click on the switch to the right to activate this feature.

Bixby Vision for accessibility

You can utilize Bixby Vision to use helpful features such as Scene describer, Object identifier, Text reader, and Color detector. To use this feature you just have to point your camera at an object, text, or color to hear additional information. You can also capture a scene to hear a description of it.

Voice Label

With this feature you can save recordings on NFC (Near Field Communications)  tags. In order to use this feature you must have voice recorder installed on your device. To do this click on Voice Label then click Download.
