Samsung Notes Settings

Sync With Samsung Cloud

You can select this option to sync your notes to the Samsung Cloud. Your notes will then be linked to your Samsung Account so you can log into another device to view them. Also if something happens to your device your notes will be still be stored on the cloud.

Sync To Microsoft OneNote

Similarly to the Samsung Cloud, you can store your notes here to access them on other devices and keep your notes safe.

General

Style Of New Notes

From here you can set the style of new notes that you create prior to opening up a new note page. You can also customize each new note individually but if there is a style you use frequently presetting the style here will add the convenience of not having to go through the process of changing the style each time.

• Page Style

  • You can adjust the page style between:
    • Individual Pages
      • Each page in a new note will be separated by page.
    • Infinite Scrolling Page
      • Instead of having individual pages, each note will be one infinite page that you can just continue to add to.

• Page Settings

  • Layout
    • You can adjust the page layout between:
      • Normal
      • Long (1:2)
  • Scroll Direction
    • Vertical
    • Horizontal

Template

• Images

  • From here you can scroll through and choose a variety of pages that contain lines, grids, bullet points, graphs and more.

• PDFs

  • If you tap on PDFs you will see a variety of more page image options that you can download.

• Download

  • At the bottom of the screen right above the Images and PDFs tabs, you can tap on the Plus Sign (+) to download images for your notes from your Gallery that you can use in the background of your new notes.

Color

In the color tab you can choose from a variety of colors for the background of your new notes.

Note Unlock Methods

You can add a password to your notes if you have sensitive information that you want to keep safe. To do this:

• Go to Note Unlock Methods and input your Samsung Account email and password.
• Then type in a password and verify it.
• If you have Biometrics set up such as Face ID or Fingerprint you can choose to add your biometrics in addition to a password so you can easily access your notes without consistently typing in your password.

Import Notes

From here you can choose to import notes from your Phone, Samsung Account, or other storage method if you have one installed.

Auto Save Notes

When this is on, your new notes will automatically save without having to manually save them.

Advanced

Show Links In Notes

If you have links to websites, addresses, etc. in your notes, you can turn this setting on to make these links clickable. If you have this setting off the hyperlinks will show only as text and will not be clickable.

Show Web Previews

If you add a website link to your notes, you can turn this setting on and it will show a preview of the website with the link.

Clipping Options

This will allow you to clip webpages, pictures, and chat rooms into notes you’ve created while using your Gallery, the Internet, and/or Messages.

Hide Scrolling Bar When Editing

You can turn this on the hide the scrolling bar while you’re editing notes.

Block Back Key While Editing

This will block the back key while you’re editing a note.

Toolbar Add-Ons

You can add the following tools to your toolbar to give you more options while creating and editing a note:

• Change Style

  • This tool will allow you to change the color and thickness of handwriting after it’s written.

• Easy Writing Pad

  • This tool will allow you to write on an easy to use writing pad to neatly align your handwriting on the page.

• Zoom Lock

  • Lock the canvas while you write. Swipe with two fingers to scroll on the locked canvas.
