Sim Card Manager

Sim Cards

A SIM Card can be either physical or electronic and a mobile device needs a SIM card from a Mobile Network Provider so the phone can connect to the Wireless Carriers cell towers so your phone can make and receive calls, messages, and access data (the internet). Only one phone number can be used on a SIM Card at a time.

At the top of this screen you will see a slot that shows a physical SIM card that is being use in your phone along with the carrier name and the active phone number. If you click on the active sim, you will be given the options to:

  • Turn the sim card on/off (turning it off will disconnect your phone from service)
  • Change the Icon (business, home phone, travel etc.)
  • Change the name of the sim card
  • Convert to ESIM (if you convert your phone to an electronic sim card your phone will temporarily be disconnected from the network)

eSIM

An eSIM (Electronic SIM) is a SIM that is preinstalled in the phone. This is usually a safer option as you will not be subject to SIM swap attacks.

Dual Sim

You can have two sim cards activated on supported models. You can have either the eSIM or a physical SIM activated at once or if your phone only has one slot for a physical SIM card you can have both a physical SIM and an eSIM with different phone numbers activated.

More SIM card Settings

From here you can:

  • Turn the Dual SIM feature on and off (This option won’t be available for phones that only have one activated SIM card).
  • Lock mobile plan settings: This allows you to put a passcode on mobile plan settings for an additional layer of security.
  • Remove all mobile plans: This will deactivate any eSIMs that are currently activated.
