Lock Screen

From here you can adjust the features on your lock screen.

Privacy

For your privacy, you can choose to show how much sensitive information appears from notifications on your lock screen.

  • Show All Notification Content
    • When this is on, all notification content will show on your screen even if it’s locked. For example, if you get a text anyone will be able to look at your phone and see who the text is from and contents of the text message. This is not a preferred setting for privacy and security reasons.
  • Show Sensitive Content Only When Unlocked
    • When this is on, you will see that you got a notification from an app but you won’t be able to see who the notification is from or any of the contents of the notification. This is a better setting to have on for privacy and security reasons.
  • Don’t Show Notifications At All
    • When this is on, you may still hear a notification but you will not be able to see what app your are getting a notification from or any of the content of the notification. This is an ideal setting to have on for privacy and security reasons.

Note: You won’t be able to make any purchases with Google Pay without entering you biometrics (fingerprint, face Id) or your lock screen passcode.

Control From Locked Device

As Long as you have Show Device Controls turned on for your lock screen, you can turn this setting on so you can control external devices even when your phone is locked. This may be useful if you have family members in your house that you want to be able to control external devices but still not be able to get into any other parts of your phone.

Double-Line Clock

The Double-Line Clock on your lock screen will show as a larger clock that takes up two lines on your lock screen instead of the standard one line clock that is smaller in the top left corner of your lock screen.

Now Playing

Now Playing is a feature that allows your phone to listen to any song that it hears playing around you and tells you what the song is. To learn more about Now Playing, click on the link.

Always Show Time And Info

This is like an Always On Display feature where even when your phone is off and locked you will still see the time, app notifications, weather, and battery percentage on the dark screen instead of having a blank dark screen when your phone is asleep.

Note: This will increase battery usage.

Tap To Check Phone

When this is turned on, you will be able to check info on your lock screen display by tapping the screen without having to click the power button on the side of the phone to check it.

  • Display Size
  • Bold Text (On or Off)

  • Reset Settings
    • You can select Reset Settings to bring these settings back to default.

Color

Night Light

This setting will make your phone display project a warmer light that is easier on the eyes and can be helpful at night to help you fall asleep faster because the brighter screen tends to keep your brain awake.

Colors

You can alter the colors on the screen between:

  • Natural
    • This will make photos and other content on the screen look more natural as if you’re seeing the photo in person.
  • Adaptive
    • This will add a subtle but effective filter over photos that makes colors more vibrant.

Other Display Controls

Auto-Rotate Screen

Auto-Rotate will automatically switch your screen from portrait view to landscape view when you turn your phone right side up or to the side. When Auto-Rotate is off, you will see a small icon in the corner of the screen, prompting you to alternate between portrait and landscape mode.

Face Detection

When you have Auto-Rotate turned on, you can turn on Face Detection which will use your face to help determine the accuracy of when your phone auto-rotates.

Screen Resolution

You can change the screen resolution to:

  • High Resolution
    • This is the default setting which still makes images and videos on the screen look good and will save more battery.
  • Full Resolution
    • This setting will increase the quality and detail of images and videos on your screen but will consume more battery.

Smooth Display

This will automatically increase your phones refresh rate for some content and applications from 60 Hz to 120 Hz. The increase in refresh rate will allow you to navigate through your phone and applications faster and smoother. This will increase battery consumption.

Screen Protector Mode

If you have a screen protector on your phone (it is highly recommended that you do), having this setting turned on will increase touch sensitivity and improve touch while you’re using your phone with a screen protector on, if you have a screen protector that interferes with touch.
