Samsung Notes

Samsung Notes is one of the many useful most commonly used apps on Samsung. You can create notes containing text, images, footnotes, recordings, music and more. You can also customize your notes with various formats and and color themes. We’ll outline most of the app features below.

When you open the Samsung Notes App you will see all of your notes displayed on the screen and you will have the following options to manage notes on this page.

Manage Notes

If you tap on the Hamburger Icon (the three horizontal lines) above your notes list on the left hand side you will see the following options unless you’ve already customized this list:

  • All Notes
    • When you select All Notes, every one of your notes will appear listed on the front screen of the notes app.
  • Shared Notebooks
    • You can share notebooks with other people so you and other contacts can both update a page of notes as needed if you are both collaborating on something from different locations.
  • Trash
    • The trash bin will contain deleted notes that are stored for 30 days before they’re deleted permanently. 
  • Folders
    • You can organize your notes in different folders which you will see listed here if you’ve created folders.

Manage Folders

From the manage folders section you can create, rename, and make subfolders for categories of notes to help you better organize your notes.

More Options

Tap on the More Options Icon (the three vertical dots) above the notes list on the right hand side and you will see the following options:

Edit

To edit notes, tap on Edit and choose which note(s) you would like to edit and you will see the following options at the bottom of the screen:

  • Move
    • You can move notes to different folders from here.
  • Lock
    • If you want to keep notes private you can place a lock on your notes. You must be logged into your Samsung Account to do this.
  • Share
    • To share notes tap on the share icon and you can choose to share the note through:
      • Samsung Notes File
      • PDF File
      • Microsoft Word File
      • Microsoft PowerPoint File
      • Image File
      • Text File
  • Delete
    • If you want to delete a note, tap on Delete. Your deleted notes will be stored in the trash for 30 days before they’re deleted.
  • More
    • More note options for editing include:
      • Save As File
      • Duplicate Note
      • Add To Favorites
      • Move To Secure Folder

Pin Favorites To Top

If you select to pin favorites, your favorited notes will be pinned at the top of your notes list to make them easily accessible so you don’t have to search for them. To favorite a note you can access a notes more options and tap on the star icon or from the Edit button you can Add To Favorites.

Create a Note

To create a new note tap on the Orange Pencil and Paper Icon in the floating bubble in the bottom right corner of the notes app screen. From here you will be given a variety of options to customize and create notes. I can only suggest you explore these features because there are so many.
