Data Saver

Depending on your data plan you may want to use the Data Saver feature to limit data use on your phone. Turning this setting on will prevent some apps from sending and receiving data in the background while you’re not using an app. If you are currently using an app it can still access data but will do so only if you are actively using those features within an app that require data consumption and will still minimize data use in the process.

Note: This could possibly downgrade your experience with some apps, however they will still work properly.

This feature may be useful if you have a limited data plan and you need to conserve data or if you are reaching de-prioritization or throttling limits. Check with your wireless carrier for more information on your data plan and data usage limitations.

Unrestricted Data

While you have your data saver on, you can choose specific apps that you use frequently as exceptions if you need to use these apps at full capacity. Simply tap on Unrestricted Data and switch on the apps you want to have unrestricted access to data.
