Find My Mobile

Find My Mobile

With Find My Mobile on you can find your device in the event that is was lost or stolen. You can use another device such as a friend or family members phone, tablet, or computer and go to https://findmymobile.samsung.com to locate your device.

Note: You need to know your Samsung Account email and password in order to log in from another device. Make sure you write your password down and keep it somewhere safe (do not keep your passwords on your phone or any electronic device).

Remote unlock

With this on you can remotely unlock your device in the event that you forget your passcode to unlock your phone. Again, you need to know your Samsung account email and password to be able to do this or at the very least have access to the email that you are using on your Samsung account.

Send Last Location

When your battery falls to a certain level, your phone will automatically send its last location to the Find My Mobile server. This is helpful if your phone was lost or stolen in the unfortunate event that your battery is also dangerously low.

Offline Finding

Even if your phone is dead or powered off you will still be able to track the location of your device.

Find My Mobile Website

As stated above, if something does happen to your device you can go to https://findmymobile.samsung.com. When log into the website with Samsung Account Email and Password you will see a map of where your device is and a list of the following options:

  • Ring
    • This will cause your phone to emit a pinging noise so if your phone is nearby you will hear the sound.
  • Lock
    • If you don’t have a lock on you phone or your phone screen is currently on and it hasn’t turned off to be able to lock the screen then you can lock your device remotely from this setting. (Once your phone is open the screen will have to turn off to lock)
  • Track Location
    • If you think someone may have stolen your device or you don’t know the last place you left it, you can track the device here.
  • Erase Data
    • This will allow you to remotely erase your phone. The device needs to be connected to service for it to be able to do this so as long as your phone is locked, don’t suspend your phone number until you erase your phone. You also want to make sure your back it up if it isn’t already.

Note: It is also a good idea to USE AN ESIM so you have full control over your device in the event that it is stolen.

  • Back Up
    • If your phone isn’t backed up or you’ve lost your phone before you had a chance to back it up, you can back it up remotely before you attempt to erase your personal information off of your lost or stolen device.
  • Retrieve Calls/Messages
    • This will allow you to retrieve any calls or messages you haven’t had a chance to see if you no longer have your phone.
  • Unlock
    • This is a great feature if you’ve forgot the pin on your phone.
  • Extend Battery Life
    • This will turn on battery saving features if your device was low on battery when it was lost or stolen or if you need your phone to stay on long enough to ping, back up, or erase it.

Note: You will not be able to use some of the Find My Mobile features unless you have the right settings turned on and have taken the necessary security steps.

Tips

  • Keep Remote Unlock, Send Last Location, and Offline Finding on.
  • Use an ESIM instead of a physical SIM if you have a compatible phone. Contact your wireless carrier to activate your ESIM.
  • Keep Find My Mobile turned on.
  • And for the love of god, don’t forget your Samsung Account email or your Samsung Account Password and if you do, DO NOT FORGET YOUR EMAIL PASSWORD that you use for your Samsung Account.
