Gestures

Gestures are a way to interact with your phone to initiate actions and features quicker.

Quick Tap To Start Actions

Quick Tap will allow you to Double Tap on the upper middle part of the back of your phone to initiate an action. You will be given the following options for quick tap:

• Take A Screenshot
• Access Your Digital Assistant
• Play Or Pause Media
• See Recent Apps
• Show Notifications
• Toggle Flashlight
• Open App
  • Tap on the Settings Icon (the gear icon) to choose an app to access with quick tap.

Quick Tap Strength

You can turn on the switch next to Require Stronger Taps if you think your quick tap setting is too sensitive and you find that quick tap is being detected to easily.

Quickly Open Camera

When this setting is on you can quickly open your camera by pressing the power button on the side of your Pixel twice.

Flip Camera For Selfie

To switch in and out of selfie mode in Google Camera, double- twists your phone twice to change from selfie mode and back to the back facing camera.

System Navigation

Gesture Navigation

Gesture navigation consists of swiping motions to navigate through your phone.

• To go Home, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
• To Switch Apps, swipe up from the bottom of the screen, hold in the center, then release.
• To go Back, swipe from either the left or right side of the screen.

Gesture Navigation Settings

To open the gesture navigation settings, tap on the Settings Icon (the gear icon) next to Gesture Navigation and you will see the following options:

Digital Assistant

If you want to use a swipe gesture to activate your digital assistant, turn on the switch next to Swipe To Invoke Assistant.

Back Sensitivity

To adjust the sensitivity for back gestures (swiping left or right at the edge of the screen) simply drag the sliders left for lower sensitivity or right for higher sensitivity.

3-Button Navigation

If you prefer buttons over gestures for navigation, you can use 3-button navigation which will display 3 buttons at the bottom of your screen to:

• Go Back
• Go Home
• Open Apps

3-Button Navigation Settings

To open 3-button navigation settings, tap on the Settings Icon (the gear icon) to the right of where it says 3-Button Navigation.

Hold Home For Assistant

If you want to access your digital assistant by holding on the home button, turn this switch on.

Tap To Check Phone

When this is on, you can tap on your phone screen when it’s asleep to wake up your phone to check the time, notifications, and any other display info you’ve set up for your lock screen.

Lift To Check Phone

When this is on, you can lift up your phone when it’s asleep to wake up your phone to check the time, notifications, and any other display info you’ve set up for your lock screen.

Flip To SHHH

This will turn on Do Not Disturb as soon as you flip your Pixel face down on a flat surface. To turn this feature on, turn on the switch next to where it says Use Flip To SHHH. Once you have this feature turned on, you will feel a subtle vibration indicating that Do Not Disturb has been turned on.

Press And Hold Power Button

When this is turned on, press and hold the power button to invoke the Digital Assistant App.
