Sync With One Drive

You can tap on this to sync your photos and videos with One Drive. One Drive is a cloud storage app and it is highly recommended that even if you don’t use One Drive that you do use some sort of cloud storage for your photos and videos and any other personal information that you don’t want to lose. Accidents and events happen and if you’re most cherished memories aren’t backed up to the cloud in the event that your break your phone beyond repair or it gets lost or stolen, you will lose absolutely everything permanently.

Viewing Options

Full Screen Scrolling

When Full screen scrolling is on the status bar at the top of your phone screen and the bottom tabs on your phone and in the gallery app will disappear as you are scrolling down through the thumbnails of your pictures and videos.

Auto Play Motion Photos

Motion Photos will provide some context to a photo by recording moments leading up to you releasing the shutter button. When Auto Play Motion Photos is on the live photo will play automatically.

Stories

Auto Create Stories

When this is on your phone will automatically piece together photos and videos to make a story out of similar items.

Hide Content

From here you can choose to automatically hide photos and videos based on the following categories:

• Hide Dates

  • If you select to hide dates, your phone will automatically hide all photos and videos taken on a specific date or time frame of your choosing. For example, if you went to Vegas between July 7 and July 14th all of those items will be automatically hidden. To do this tap on + Add Dates.

• Hide People and Pets

  • Your phone will recognize faces so when you tap on + Add People and Pets you will see a list of photos of different people and pets you would like to automatically hide.

Shared Albums

Notifications

When this is on you will receive notifications if anyone in a shared album ads a photo or video.

Trash

When Trash is on your phone will keep deleted photos and videos for 30 days in the trash bin. If you have this off photos and videos will be deleted permanently. If you want to keep trash active but you want a specific photo or video deleted permanently, simply go to the trash bin and delete the item.

Show Place Names

When this is on you will see the specific location each photo or video was taken.

Here you can view Samsungs privacy policy in regards to your Gallery.

Permissions

These will be all the active permissions you allow the Gallery to have.
